Chef RPG hand-guide for newcomers

Welcome! this is a little guide I made for newcomers to Chef RPG’s Alpha testing, here will be included some tips and frequently asked questions that will hopefully help you to get started on testing, as well as get you more familiar with the environment.

Where do I upgrade the restaurant floor?

Head over to the Town Hall, and enter the door on the north-western building, right above the sign "Town Hall"

In the building, you should be able to find an NPC named Prisca, who will help you upgrade the flooring of your restaurant, as well as purchasing a personal house

Where do I buy furniture and appliances?

The furniture store is located on the southern side of the Town Hall, it is next to a staircase and has a “La Galeria” sign above it, with the number 702 just under that, it looks like this:

In there, the shopkeeper should be able to assist you on purchasing the furniture and appliances you need for your restaurant:

Where Is the post office?

The post office is located just to the left of the train station, on the north-eastern side of the map, it has a large “Parcel Co.” sign above it

Daily quests will often send you there to drop a package, just approach the box in front of the store and click [x]

How to get weapons and tools?

On the western side of the map, there is an old lady NPC called Pomarine, who will sell you various items such as spears, staffs, bows, fishing rods, etc...

How to use tools and weapons?

First, find the item in your inventory, right click it to equip, you should now see it appear on your UI

How to Fish?

Stand in front of a water source (Lake, Ocean, etc...) and hold right click to cast your rod, you should see a bar above your head, that signifies how intense your throw will be, the longer you hold it, the further your hook will reach

Now you want to wait until your float sinks to the water, when this happens, immediately hit left click to start pulling, this is how it will look like

Now a white circle and an arrow should appear in the water, your goal is to keep the arrow on the white circle region with the WASD keys, additionally, a bar will appear next to the player's character showing how long you have to hold until you catch the fish

Keep the fish in that circle for enough time, and the fish will be yours!

How to use the bow?

A bow is a hunting tool that can be used to kill animals for their meat, right click while having the bow equipped, and a target should appear on the screen, following your mouse movement

While having the target up, move your mouse towards an animal, and hold left click, that should start charging an arrow, indicated by the target shrinking

Then, release the left click, an the arrow will launch at your target, and deal them damage, repeat until dead, while doing your best to keep a good distance from the animal

How to use a Scythe?

The Scythe can be used to harvest various plants that cannot be acquired by simply approaching and clicking [x]

Get close to a patch of plants (in this instance, mushrooms) and equip your Scythe

Face the plants, and start slicing by clicking left click

After a few hits, the plants will drop, and you can go around and gather them

And that's it! Do note that some NPCs will not show up where they are supposed to be, the devs are aware of this and will work to fix it. Feel free to ask any question you may on the Discord, and report any bugs you find in a forum post :)✰
